Tax Capacity-Building Yields Billions in Revenue, OECD Says

Developing countries saw record revenues and stronger enforcement against illicit financial flows, partially thanks to capacity-building and outreach support from the OECD’s Global Forum in 2024, according to a Thursday report.

An all-time high of 100 jurisdictions—including 79 developing countries—received bilateral technical support from the organization’s office responsible for aiding the implementation and use of tax transparency standards in 2024, according to the report.

The office, titled the Secretariat of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes, trained 11,532 officials in 2024, the office’s 2025 Capacity Building Report said.
