Thirteen jurisdictions have made progress in improving how they resolve tax disputes, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development said Tuesday.
The reviews are part of the OECD’s efforts to improve how countries and companies deal with tax challenges. Protracted, expensive legal fights over tax are a common issue for multinational companies.
- The OECD reports covered 13 jurisdictions: Aruba, Bahrain, Barbados, Gibraltar, Greenland, Kazakhstan, Oman, Qatar, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. All 13 jurisdictions demonstrated positive changes, the OECD said, though the speed of progress varied among countries.
