The share of taxes paid by UK’s top income earners in 2025-26 is set to decline to its lowest in over a decade, latest official figures released Monday showed.
The share of income taxes paid by the top 1% of taxpayers is estimated to be 26.6%, the lowest mark since 2012-13, according to data released by His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
At the same time, the share of income taxes paid by the bottom 25% of taxpayers is estimated to be 2.4%, the highest since 2012-13.
