The Thai National News Bureau Jan. 13 announced social security benefits due to the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement provides that taxpayers: 1) paying social security contributions are eligible for compensation for income lost due to the pandemic; 2) who contract the coronavirus can receive free medical treatment and claim compensation of 50 percent of their wages based on the maximum income base of 15,000 Thai baht (US$451); 3) taking sick leave for over 30 days must produce evidence of social security contributions; and 4) must submit contributions for three months within a period of 15 months before the month of ...
