Treaty Override Objections Dominate First Hours of UN Tax Talks

A United Nations committee push to reallocate taxing rights more fairly shouldn’t include an obligation to renegotiate existing agreements, a large number of countries said Tuesday.

Top negotiators inserted the renegotiation requirement into draft language of a new UN tax treaty ahead of a meeting taking place this week and next to craft the treaty.
