Industry groups and tax professionals are echoing US President Donald Trump’s view that the digital services taxes implemented by a number of countries target mostly American tech companies.
Their criticism comes as countries reconsider the tax—either to appease Trump or to wield it as a bargaining chip—in response to the punitive tariffs he announced against trading partners April 2.
