Turkey Gazettes Presidential Decision Temporarily Allowing VAT Deduction on Specific Imports

The Turkish Official Gazette Dec. 28 published Presidential Decision No. 8000, amending Presidential Decision No. 7846 of 11/23/23, which abolished the right to deduct VAT calculated on goods subject to customs surveillance and protective measures in imports. The current decision includes measures to temporarily allow the right to deduct VAT on such goods if their import price is shown paid through the banking system before Nov. 24, 2023, and if imported by April 1, 2024, inclusive.
