Turkey Tax Agency Posts Draft Communique to Amend VAT Rules

The Turkish Revenue Administration Jan. 16 posted online Draft Communique No. 50, to amend the VAT rules. The draft communique includes measures to: 1) amend provisions related to VAT refund in transactions subject to withholding; 2) extend the VAT exemption period to Dec. 31, 2028, from Dec. 31, 2023, for specific services provided to technology development zone, urban transportation systems, and social security institution; 3) clarify the deduction of VAT paid by declaring as responsible; and 4) clarify the VAT declaration period.
