Two More Hedge-Fund Managers Targeted in Danish Cum-Ex Probe

Danish officials are targeting more hedge fund managers as part of a widening crackdown on banks and financial professionals linked to the Cum-Ex tax scandal.

Charles Knott and James Hoogewerf, former employees at Solo Capital Partners, asked a London court to toss out the claims against them in a 1.5 billion pound ($2 billion) lawsuit brought by Denmark’s tax authority against nearly 100 financial professionals.

Lawyers for the tax authority say Knott and Hoogewerf each received 2.7 million euros in June 2015 from Sanjay Shah, founder of Solo and purported “ringmaster” of what the Danes say was a scheme linked ...
