The U.K.’s House of Commons approved a digital services tax proposal Thursday as part of the finance bill for 2019-20.
The measure requires that tech giants such as Facebook Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. pay a 2% tax on their U.K. digital revenue. The tax would be temporary and subject to a review in 2025, said Jesse Norman, financial secretary to the Treasury.
