U.K. Expected to Roll Out New Green Levies For Gas in Budget

Next month’s budget may include details of new levies on gas as part of the government’s strategy to eliminate carbon emissions, said U.K. Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng Thursday.

In Britain 85% of homes use gas to keep warm. Kwarteng said decarbonizing heating, and how to pay for it was one of the biggest challenges for the government and its climate change agenda at the moment.
