U.K. Eyes Tax Residency Changes In Another Bid for Business

The U.K. wants to change its corporate residency tax rules in another bid to encourage companies to move to the country post-Brexit.

The proposal, part of this week’s autumn budget release, would offer companies simpler rules to move their incorporation to the U.K. Under current rules, a company can move its tax residency to the country, if it’s controlled and managed from the U.K. However, if it remains incorporated elsewhere it will be covered by two sets of rules when it comes to corporate tax law, which can cause compliance headaches for companies wishing to migrate.
