Uganda Says July-Dec. Tax Collection Exceeded Target by 2.2%

Revenue collection from July 1 through Dec. 31 amounted to about 15.25 trillion shillings against a target of 14.93 trillion shillings, Kampala-based Uganda Revenue Authority says in a statement.

  • Collection during 1H of 2024-25 financial year rose 16.1% y/y
  • At least 420,183 new taxpayers were added to the register raising the total number to about 4.9 million
  • URA targets to collect 31.34 trillion shillings this financial year; the outstanding 16.44 trillion shillings “is achievable” on robust strategy and administrative measures
