Feedback from tax practitioners shows that the UK government’s digital tax reporting plans are not fit for purpose, a tax adviser group said.
The Chartered Institute of Taxation released a report on Friday with its members’ concerns about His Majesty’s Revenue and Custom’s plans for Making Tax Digital, an approach to reduce the tax gap by requiring businesses and individuals to keep digital records and submit quarterly reports.
