UK Considers Cutting Tech Tax for Carve-Out From Trump Tariffs

The UK government is weighing plans to reduce or even abolish its digital services tax before April 2 in an effort to avoid the worst of US President Donald Trump’s trade tariffs.

The Treasury is considering several options for modifying the so-called tech tax that were proposed by the Department for Business and Trade, a person briefed on the discussions said. The possible changes don’t include company-specific carve-outs, according to the person, who requested anonymity to discuss private conversations.
