The UK government defended its digital services tax as an appropriate measure for taxing businesses in the wake of fresh tariff threats from the Trump administration.
“Our Digital Services Tax is fair and it’s a proportionate approach to taxing business activities undertaken in the UK. We continue to negotiate a wider economic deal with the United States,” a spokesperson for His Majesty’s Treasury said.
