The UK government announced a support package to help British pubs with rising tax bills, the latest U-turn from Keir Starmer’s struggling administration.

Pubs will get a 15% discount on their new business rates bills from April followed by a two-year real-terms freeze in their bills, Treasury minister Dan Tomlinson told the House of Commons on Tuesday. The package — which also applies to music venues — is worth about £80 million ($110 million) next year.
