UK Raises Taxes on Casinos in Effort to Patch Hole in Budget

The UK has imposed tax rises on the UK’s online gambling sector, one of many budget measures described in an analysis released in error before Rachel Reeves was due to reveal the changes in the House of Commons.

Online casinos will bear the brunt of the tax rises, with remote gaming duty increasing to 40% in April from 21% currently, according the Office for Budget Responsibility’s budget analysis, published prematurely.
