UK Tax Office Investigating Nine Businesses Over Tax Evasion

The UK tax office is investigating nine companies suspected of failing to prevent tax evasion within their businesses.

His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs is also reviewing an additional possible 25 cases of criminal corporate tax evasion, according to a freedom of information release published July 27.

• Both the live investigations and those under review span 10 different business sectors including software providers, accountancy and legal services, and transport.
