The UK tax authority is seeking industry feedback on a proposal to streamline the tax regime for online betting and online casinos, reducing the possible number of tax regimes from three to one.
The remote gambling consultation announced Monday is one of several government tax policy proposals aimed at reducing bureaucracy, reforming the tax system, and cutting down on non-compliance.
His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs currently imposes the General Betting Duty (21%), the Pool Betting Duty (15%) and the Remote Gaming Duty (15%).
