Tax collections from petrol in fiscal year 2023-24 are £321 million ($402.7 million) higher than the previous year, and gambling netted £86 million more too, according to the latest statistics from the UK tax office.
His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs statistics Tuesday showed that total excise duty collections from fuels and oils in fiscal year 2023-24 at £49.39 billion were £540 million lower than the year before. Meanwhile, separate statistics showed taxes on betting and gaming increased and brought in £3.39 billion in the same period.
