The UK tax office has significantly increased payouts to whistleblowers in recent years, spending £508,500 ($647,364) in the past financial year on information.
Payouts have steadily increased over the past five financial years to informants who provided actionable insights.
The 2022/23 fiscal year figure is more than 70% higher than the amount paid to informants in FY2018/19 financial year, which totaled £290,250 and just under 3% higher than compared to the £495,277 paid out in FY2021/22, according to a freedom of information release made by Mattison Public Relations on behalf of law firm Reynolds Porter ...
