The UK government on Thursday launched an independent review of the dispute resolution process for paying a back tax meant to deter use of disguised loans to pay people without subjecting the payments to tax.
The review seeks to help taxpayers who are subject to the so-called Loan Charge settle their disagreements with the UK’s tax authority by identifying barriers preventing them from doing so, His Majesty’s Treasury said in a press release.
