The UK is cracking down on wealthy tax cheats who engage in cross-border tax avoidance, Exchequer Secretary Daniel Tomlinson told a government conference.
In remarks at the Tuesday event, published Wednesday, Tomlinson said the government will deploy 400 specialists by the end of 2029 to 2030 to work on offshore tax compliance by the wealthy. A new compliance group, the “Complex Cross Tax and Offshore” team, has already been established with 70 experts on board, he said.
