Ukraine MOF Announces Draft Bill to Terminate DTA With Iran Due to War

The Ukrainian Ministry of Finance Aug. 4 announced Cabinet approval of a draft bill to terminate the DTA with Iran, signed May 21, 1996, due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. The bill includes measures that would: 1) apply the 15 percent general tax rate under the Tax Code to all income of Iranian residents from Ukrainian sources, terminating the 10 percent preferential rate under the DTA for dividends, interest, and royalties; 2) discontinue the credit for tax paid in Iran by Ukraine residents carrying out activities within Iran; and 3) terminate Ukraine’s obligation to exchange tax information with Iran.
