UK’s Kwarteng Urges Gas Stations to Pass Tax Cut on to Drivers

UK Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng wrote to fuel retailers urging them to give drivers a “fair deal” and fully pass on to motorists a government cut in fuel duty.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak in March cut fuel duty by 5 pence a liter for a year -- the biggest ever cut in the levy -- in an effort to shield motorists from prices that had jumped to a record. But Kwarteng said drivers are yet to see the full benefits.
