United Kingdom Gazettes Statutory Instrument Setting Chargeable Amounts for Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings

The United Kingdom Official Gazette Feb. 24 published Statutory Instrument No. 156/2026, setting annual chargeable amounts for the Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings (ATED). The ATED is levied on residential property in the U.K. valued over 500,000 British pounds (US$676,000) and owned by specified legal entities. The instrument includes annual chargeable amounts for six property value bands, increased for inflation at 3.8 percent based on the September 2025 consumer price index (CPI).
