The United Kingdom HM Revenue and Customs Dec. 20 explained the over-claiming of coronavirus support payments. The agency clarified that: 1) taxpayers need to inform and pay the agency over-claimed amounts within 30 days of receiving a payment reference number; and 2) taxpayers are liable for penalties and the cancellation of grants if they don’t comply with these instructions.
