United Kingdom Tax Agency Issues Policy Paper on Temporarily Reduced VAT for Selected Family Activities

The United Kingdom HM Revenue and Customs May 21 issued a policy paper on the temporary VAT reduction, to 5 percent from 20 percent, on selected family activities, effective June 25 through Sept. 1. The policy paper includes that the reduced rate: 1) applies to children’s meals served in restaurants for consumption on the premises, children’s and family tickets including at least one child for cinemas, theaters, concerts, shows, and exhibitions, and admission tickets for children and adults to specific attractions, including amusement parks, theme and water parks, circuses, adventure parks, museums, heritage sites, zoos, aquariums, wildlife parks, soft play ...
