US Companies Not Fully Exempt From Minimum Tax, Treasury Says

US companies aren’t fully exempt from the global minimum tax and are still subject to some of its provisions, Rebecca Burch, deputy assistant Treasury secretary for international tax affairs, said Thursday.

Referring to a Group of Seven statement last month announcing an understanding with the US on the minimum tax, Burch said, “It is not the final agreement. It is not an agreement among G7 at all, and it is not about a full exclusion.”

She added that the G7 statement “does represent a common view and understanding of how to move forward.” Burch was speaking at the Transfer Pricing ...
