Uzbekistan Gazettes Decree Requiring Legislative Proposals for Tax Changes

The Uzbek Official Gazette Sept. 4 published Presidential Decree No. PP-292, requiring submission of legislative tax proposals for businesses within two months. The decree includes measures requiring proposals to: 1) increase the income threshold to 10 billion Uzbek som (US$820,371) from 5 billion som (US$410,185), for mandatory monthly payment of profit tax; 2) reduce the limitation period to claim tax liability, to three years from five years; 3) generally eliminate procedures for suspending special VAT registration certificates; 4) abolish use of the tax break coefficient in refunding a negative amount of VAT; 5) transfer cases involving the tax authorities from ...
