Vietnam Beer Producers Seek Lower Excise Tax Increase

The Vietnam Beer, Alcohol & Beverage Association asked the government for lower increases in excise taxes, the industry group says in its feedback to the finance ministry’s draft changes to the excise law.

• It also asked the government to delay to as early as 2027, instead of 2026, any tax hike
• From the current 65%, producers want tax rate on beer to be raised to 70% in 2027- 2028 period and to 75% in 2029-2030; tax should be capped at 80% from 2031
