Vietnam Issues Decree on Tax Regulations for Foreign, Domestic E-Commerce Platforms

The Vietnamese Government June 11 issued Decree No. 117/2025/ND-CP, amending the tax regulations for resident and nonresident individuals doing business and other digital economic activities on e-commerce and digital platforms. The decree includes measures to require entities that manage foreign and domestic e-commerce platforms to: 1) deduct and pay VAT on behalf of resident and nonresident sellers using a percentage of revenue from completed transactions, in accordance with the VAT laws; 2) deduct and pay individual income tax on behalf of nonresident individuals using a percentage of domestic revenue, in accordance with the individual income tax laws; 3) apply the ...
