Vietnam Ministry Seeks to Extend VAT Cut of 2 Ppts to Mid-2025

Finance ministry proposes to continue extending the cut of value-added tax to 8% from 10% in some sectors until end of June next year, according to a statement on the govt’s website.

  • The proposal aims to encourage production and consumption to boost economic growth
  • NOTE: In June, the parliament approved 2 ppts VAT reduction through end-2024
