Zucman Wins Young Economist Award for Work on Taxes, Inequality

University of California, Berkeley associate professor Gabriel Zucman won the 2023 John Bates Clark medal young economist award for his work on tax avoidance and income inequality.

“He is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on tax evasion, both at the household and at the corporate level, and a major contributor to the literature on measuring and explaining the rise in economic inequality,” the American Economic Association said in a statement Tuesday.
