The Alabama Department of Revenue (DOR) announced that effective Dec. 1, it will collect and distribute severance taxes on behalf of Lee County. The severance tax will be $0.10 per ton or cubic yard of rock quarried in Lee County, and tax returns are due by the twentieth of each month for operations of the previous month.
