Apple Challenges $26 Million Florida Corporate Income Tax Bill

The Florida Department of Revenue used the wrong methodology to calculate Apple Inc.'s taxable income in the state, the tech giant alleged in a complaint challenging a $26.3 million bill.

Apple contested the department’s handling of revenue from digital services, including iTunes, apps, iBooks, and content subscriptions, for tax years 2020-2022 in a complaint filed Thursday with the Florida Circuit Court for Leon County. The company filed a similar lawsuit last year over a $14.8 million corporate income tax bill for 2017-2018, which is still pending.
