Arizona Adds Certain Property Types to Homestead Exemption

The Arizona Governor signed a law concerning the homestead and personal property exemptions. The law includes: 1) adding park model trailers, motor homes, travel trailers, fifth wheel trailers, houseboats, manufactured homes and other forms of shelter in which a person resides, plus the land on which the shelter is located, to the types of property that qualify for the $400,000 homestead exemption; and 2) exempting all federal and state Earned Income Tax Credits and Child Tax Credits from execution, attachment or sale on any process issued from any court or other judicial remedy provided for collection of debts.
