Arizona Governor Signs Law Amending Provisions Relating to Internal Revenue Code

The Arizona Governor Feb. 28 signed a law amending the state’s tax statutes related to the definition of the “Internal Revenue Code” for income tax purposes. The law defines the Code as amended up to Jan. 1, 2025, excluding any subsequent federal amendments after that date, with special provisions adopting retroactivity for certain federal acts in prior tax years. The new definition will apply to tax years beginning on or after Dec. 31, 2024. The law takes effect on the general effective date. [H.B. 2688, enacted 02/28/25]
