Arkansas Governor Signs Law Amending Time Period to Assess Tangible Personal Property

The Arkansas Governor signed a law amending the time period for assessments of property and payment of property taxes. The law extends the time period for new residents, new businesses, and existing residents to assess tangible personal property acquired Jan. 1 to May 31 without penalty, from 30 to 60 days after acquisition. The extended time period also applies to property acquired between April 1 and May 31. [H.B. 1759, enacted 04/10/25]
