Bill Extending West Virginia Tourism Tax Perks Heads to Governor

Tax incentives for building tourism projects in West Virginia would still be available after this year under a measure that House lawmakers passed Dec. 16.

Lawmakers have sent Gov. Jim Justice (R) a bill (S.B. 2001) that will extend tourism tax credits by six years, until Dec. 31, 2025. The governor has advocated for an extension, so his approval is expected.

The House approved the measure 87-9 on Dec. 16, after the Senate unanimously passed it in November. The extension was one of a handful of items that Justice called lawmakers into a special session to consider, so ...
