Boost Mobile Dealer Beats Alabama Sales Tax Bill on Prepayments

A Boost Mobile retailer is off the hook for over half a million dollars in sales tax assessed by Alabama, a state appeals court ruled.

The state revenue department appealed a trial court ruling that prepayments for wireless service customers made at three Cellular Express Inc. stores aren’t covered by a law imposing sales tax on long distance telephone cards.
