The California Governor signed a law concerning low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC). The law includes: 1) removing a requirement that a taxpayer elect to sell a LIHTC in their application for tax credits; and 2) allowing taxpayers to choose to certificate the credit any time before the tax credits are awarded. The law takes effect on Jan. 1, 2026, [A.B. 480, enacted 10/10/25]
