California Court of Appeal issued a judgment granting taxpayer’s petition for a writ of mandate ordering the trial court to vacate its orders requiring him to sign a 2023 tax return for his dental corporation prepared by his estranged wife’s accountant. Taxpayer’s estranged wife wanted to sell the dental practice which had been awarded her during their divorce, but taxpayer refused to sign the tax return prepared by her accountant because his own accountant identified errors in the returns.
