California Assembly Backs Tax Conformity With Pre-2025 IRS Code

A bill that brings California’s tax code into conformity with a decade of federal law passed the California legislature on Thursday.

The assembly passed the bill 58-1 on Tuesday before the senate gave its final approval on Thursday.

The bill now heads to Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), who hasn’t taken a position on S.B. 711. He has until Oct. 12 to either sign or veto the legislation. It passed the Senate with a 38-0 vote in May.
