California Bill Extends Tax Break for Renewable Energy Projects

A program excluding equipment and technology for renewable energy and advanced manufacturing projects such as automation from California sales and use tax would be extended until 2031 under a bill the Senate passed Wednesday.

Senators voted 39-0 to pass the bill (S.B. 86) from Senate Revenue and Tax Chair Jerry McNerney (D) and move it to the Assembly for consideration. The Assembly has until Sept. 12 to pass it.
