California EDD Updates Payroll Tax Relief for Employers Affected by Emergencies, Disasters

The California Employment Development Department (EDD) updated the payroll tax relief for employers affected by emergencies to include employers in the city of Oceanside, Sierra County, and Siskiyou County. The document explains that employers in Oceanside directly affected by the Pier Fire may request up to a two-month extension from the EDD to file their state payroll reports, and deposit payroll taxes without incurring penalties or interests under section 1111.5 of the California Unemployment Insurance Code (CUIC).
