California Employment Department Issues 2023 Withholding Schedules, Methods

The California Employment Development Department Nov. 1 issued 2023 withholding schedules for individual income and corporate income tax purposes. California provides two methods for determining the amount of wages and salaries to be withheld for personal income tax: 1) Method A - Wage Bracket Table Method (limited to wages and salaries less than $1 million); and 2) Method B - Exact Calculation Method.
