California Extends Deadlines for Certain Property Tax Relief

The California Governor signed a law concerning property taxation and the 2025 Los Angeles fires. The law includes: 1) extending to 3 years the deadline from the date of a notice for supplemental assessment under Propositions 58, 193, and 19 for taxpayers to apply for an intergenerational change in ownership exclusion provided certain conditions are met; 2) deeming as timely filed claims for a homeowner’s or disabled veteran’s exemption if filed within a year of the date of mailing of a notice of supplemental or escape assessment issued as a result of the transfer of the real property for which ...
