The California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) May 11 issued a frequently asked question providing that the FTB will process requests for individual status letters prior to the postponed July 15 due date for the 2019 individual income tax return due to the COVID-19 state of emergency. The letter helps taxpayers to get student loans or veterans affairs financing and shows lenders and third parties, such as employers, that they have no outstanding tax obligations.
